Your Privacy Rights & Data Control

At skovo educations, we are committed to transparency and providing you with full control over your personal data. This page outlines your rights as a user (or "Data Principal") and provides the necessary tools to exercise them, in compliance with global data protection laws, including India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDP Act) and the EU's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).  

 

1. Your Privacy Rights

 

You have the right to manage your personal information. This includes the following:

  • The Right to Access: You can request a summary of the personal data we hold about you.  

  • The Right to Rectification: If you find that any personal data we hold is inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated, you have the right to have it corrected or updated.  

  • The Right to Withdraw Consent: You can withdraw your consent for data processing at any time, particularly for activities like marketing communications.  

  • The Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you in any way for exercising your privacy rights, such as by denying you service or providing a lower-quality experience.  

 

2. Your Right to Account & Data Deletion

 

This section provides the information required by app stores for data deletion.

You have the right to request the complete deletion of your skovo educations account and all associated personal data.

 

How to Initiate a Deletion Request

 

You can request the deletion of your account and data through either of the following methods:

  1. Recommended Method (Web Form): Please submit your request through our secure Data Deletion Request Form. This is the fastest and most secure way to process your request. Link: [https://www.skovo.educations/delete-my-data] (Note: You must create this page on your website)

  2. Alternative Method (Email): You may email us directly at privacy@skovo.educations.

    • Required Subject Line: "Data Deletion Request"

    • Required Information: Please provide the full name and email address associated with your skovo educations account so we can locate your data.

 

What Happens When You Request Deletion?

 

  1. Verification: For your security, we will first need to verify your identity to ensure you are the legitimate owner of the account. We will contact you using the email address on file.  

  2. Processing: Once your identity is verified, we will begin the process of permanently deleting your personal data from our active systems.

  3. Data That is Deleted: This includes your profile information (name, email), user-generated content (notes, assignments, forum posts), and your learning analytics data (course progress, assessment scores).

  4. Data That May Be Retained (Legal Exceptions): Please note that we may be required by law to retain certain non-identifiable information for a limited period. This includes records of financial transactions (if you made a purchase) for tax and auditing purposes, or data that has been fully anonymized and aggregated for statistical analysis. We will not retain any data longer than is necessary for its specified legal purpose.  

 

3. Special Protections for Children & Minors

 

skovo educations is an educational platform and takes the protection of children's data extremely seriously, in accordance with laws like the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) in the U.S. and the DPDP Act in India.  

  • Parental Consent: We require verifiable parental/guardian consent before collecting any personal information from a child (defined as under 18 in India or under 13-16 in other jurisdictions).  

  • School Consent: In some cases, we may work with schools or educational institutions. In this context, the school may provide consent on behalf of the parent for the use of our platform in an educational setting.  

  • Parental Rights: As a parent or legal guardian, you have the right to:

    • Review the personal information we have collected from your child.

    • Request the deletion of your child's personal information.

    • Refuse to permit any further collection or use of your child's data.
